02 Truth (High Priestess)
02 Truth (High Priestess)

This is no terror ground
Or place for the rage
No broken hearts
White wash lies
Just a taste for the truth
Perfect taste choice and meaning
A look into your eyes

Blind to the gemstone alone
A smile from a frown circles round
Should he stay or should he go
Let him shout a rage so strong
A rage that knows no right or wrong
And take a little piece of you

Truth is a very frightening concept to most of us. The knowledge of what life and the universe are really (and ultimately) about creates a great amount of uneasiness as this knowledge may cause us to completely re-think our existence & value. However, despite this fear of truth, truth is one of the most highly valued and sought after commodities in our world.

This presents the problem of where the truth is to be found and how quickly should it be approached? An old saying goes that anyone who sees the face of God goes mad. So perhaps it is best that we do not. This is why our guardian of truth, or High Priestess, is shown standing in a whorl and slowly handing out pages from her Book of Truth.

Remember The Fool’s instruction sheet? Think of this information flow as somewhat like travelling through an onion. Once you are able to understand the skin, or layer, that you are on, it peels off and allows you to progress to the next skin closer to the center. Trouble is, that such a theoretical onion has no center; so don’t try looking for it.

The other problem is where to find this great vegetable of truth. I think that the best place to find these ever descending illusions is in life itself… everything from analysing dreams and Tarot images to playing video games and listening to Rock Music.

Pulling truth from the illusion that carries it can be quite difficult. I believe that one of the easiest ways to start is to:

  1. take one small event or area,
  2. focus on it,
  3. reduce it’s elements to black & white (as in the two pillars of wisdom),
  4. understand the relationships, and then
  5. return them to their relevant shades of grey (or whatever other colors take your fancy).

In such a way you can work with the illusions of life and find how they present your own personal truth.

Divinatory Meanings

The search for truth. Illusions. The shades of grey in-between black & white. Individuality through intuition. New information coming. Hidden things. Lies told.
